Imereti Days in "Tsiskvili" - "Festival of Georgian Regions" started
On May 20-21, Tsiskvili hosted Imereti. During the two days, guests had the opportunity to get to know this region of Georgia through its distinctive folk songs, choreographic numbers, and dishes, and to participate in various activities.
Imereti Days were held as part of the new initiative of the Tsiskvili Group, the "Festival of Georgian Regions" which aims to promote the culture and gastronomy of different parts of Georgia. Imereti was the first region to be featured by Tsiskvili.
"The Festival of Georgian Regions" is a very interesting event for both Georgians and foreign guests, as it gives them the opportunity to travel to different parts of the country in Tbilisi and experience their authentic culture and gastronomy.
After Imereti, Svaneti will be featured. Until the end of July, Kakheti, Samegrelo, Racha, Guria, and Adjara will also present their regions at the Tsiskvili Group," says Anano Tavkhelidze, head of marketing at Tsiskvili Group.
During Imereti Days, Tsiskvili was visited by artists from Kutaisi. The "Bermukha" ensemble of the Vasadze Folklore Art School, the folk music ensemble of the Folklore Art School under the leadership of Zviad Abesadze, Levan Gersamia's ensemble, "Georgian Choreography," and the "Aisi" ensemble performed.
Georgian companies also presented their products, including wineries such as "Enkeni," "Shumi," "Fesvebi," "Ojakhuri," "Badagi," and "Keto's."
"We came from Imereti especially for this festival and presented our Kvevri wine. The guests had the opportunity to taste two types of Imerian wine - Tsitska and Dzelshavi. I think they were well received.
We thank the Tsiskvili Group for allowing us to contribute to this exciting venture. I am sure that the days featuring other regions will be as memorable as it was during the presentation of Imereti," said Lasha Guruli, the founder of the "Enkeni" winery.
In addition to tasting Georgian products, guests had the opportunity to experience authentic Imerian flavors through the updated menu of Tsiskvili. Traditional Imerian dishes were added to the menu especially for these days. Master classes were also held, during which guests prepared real Imerian khachapuri, and other outstanding dishes.
A children's zone was also organized in the yard of Tsiskvili, where children could enjoy various activities.
"Mostly families come to us, and usually, adults are accompanied by young children. That's why we decided to create a space specially for children, which will be available on other festival days as well. While adults are busy with tastings or other activities, children will have their own space," says Anano Tavkhelidze.
The "Festival of Georgian Regions" is being held for the first time this year, but the Tsiskvili Group says that it will become an annual tradition. Details about the event will be published on the Tsiskvili Facebook page over time.
